It is not, however, "Asia," "AsiaCarrera" or "me." If you've read all of Asia's site, you could probably recognize it if you saw it.

back to top	Asia reads all of her email, which is, understandably, a pretty sizable amount. To prevent annoying, spontaneous emails from perverts and weirdos, her email address is not posted outright on her site.

I know Asia said "Don't send me private messages," but I am special, right? I don't need to follow the rules.
back to top	Wrong. What Asia meant by writing "Don't send me private messages" is don't send her private messages. Private messages are distracting, and she will not think highly of you if you send them (unless you get permission first).

Where did Klaatu get his name?
back to top	Klaatu was the name of the alien in the 1951 sci-fi movie "The Day the Earth Stood Still." George Lucas paid homage to this movie by using the name in Star Wars.

How come zasdf isn't in the FAQ?
back to top	Because no one really asks about him. We do know that he uses a legacy Celeron 366 system, which has been fast enough for him to make several custom Asia-inspired maps for Unreal Tournament. It's also very easy to make him sad.

back to top	I help Asia watch the chat room, keeping the environment pleasant and serene. I am not Asia, nor am I related to her. I am usually occupied with other activities while I am logged into the chat room. So if you address a post to me and I don't respond, I'm not necessarily ignoring you on purpose.

Why does it say GeekChat? I thought this was AsiaChat.
back to top	This is called "GeekChat" becuase many geeks chat here, including Asia. Also, it serves to disguise the fact that you are chatting from an adult oriented web site. This comes in handy if you are chatting from public environments (work, school, library).

Why are there hamsters at the bottom?
back to top	Hamsters are adorable little creatures that are fun to look at. In addition, the hamster pictures serve to reinforce the GeekChat disguise, as was mentioned above.

How do I send a private message to another chatter?
back to top	You have 2 options to send private messages: 1) You simply highlight the recipient's name on the User List at the right hand side. Then, you click the "Private Chat" checkbox in the lower right corner (the upper check box). Then your posts will only be seen by the person you chose to receive them. or 2) The other option is to open a Private Chat Window. This will open up a second chat window dedicated to private chat with another person in the room. To activate this, type priv username in the text entry area (e.g., priv AsiaFan).

How do I make the chat window bigger?
back to top	To get a larger chat window, make sure you have hit the "Float" button located in the upper right corner. Then you can resize the chat window as you wish.

How do I change the chat colors?
back to top	To change the text color, type chat fgcolor colorname into your text entry field (e.g. chat fgcolor green). To change the background color, type chat bgcolor colorname into your text entry field (e.g. chat bgcolor black) "colorname" are standard names for colors, such as white, blue, green, red, black, etc...

How do I make the chat text bigger?
back to top	To change the text size, type *chat fontsize 16 (or any other number) into your text entry field

Why do I keep getting disconnected from the chat room? I am just sitting here doing nothing.
back to top	Parachat has an idle time out of 5-10 minutes, after which time you are disconnected from the room. Your idle time is reset if you post something, or if you "User Info" someone (highlight a name in the user list and then press the User Info button).

What does the "Surf!" button do?
back to top	The Parachat window automatically searches for URLs (web page addresses) mentioned in chat. If a URL has been posted, you may automatically visit that site simply by pressing the "Surf!" button, located in the upper right corner.

Is there another room I can chat in?
back to top	No, AsiaChat only has one room.

Can I chat here using IRC?
back to top	No, you can only use Parachat's JAVA applet.

WHY SHOULDN'T I TYPE IN ALL CAPS?
back to top	CAPS are the equivalent of shouting and should only be used occassionally for emphasis. Using CAPS LOCK all the time is quite annoying. Please don't do it.
