Asia in IA2000 Magazine

A small article and interview of Asia appeared in the January 1999 issue of "IA2000." The following is a copy of the article text and picture that was printed in the magazine:

Web Wonder

Asia, the cute little webmistress of www.asiacarrera.com, often brags that she does her "Buttkickin' Homepage" herself. Her site is jam-packed with great images and biographical information. Her pay section offers many great shots and videos that she says are there for you to "wank to." IA2000 recently caught up with the adult actress gone web mistress for some online chat.

IA- Can you tell our readers what tools or software you use to create and update your Buttkickin' web site?

ASIA- I create all HTML from scratch using Notepad. HTML is an easy computer language to learn, even easier to learn than some of the HTML editor programs, so I just write the code from scratch. Microsoft Frontpage is cool of you are just starting to program HTML. All of my graphics are creaated in Adobe Photoshop and I use Eye Candy from ALien Skin Software for cool effects and to optimize my graphics for quick downloads. For ani(mated) gifs I use Gif Animator. This is one of the handiest free programs I'ev ever found.

IA- Do you really do all your own design work and programming?

ASIA- Yes. No. Well, okay, the only thing I didn't make on the entire site is the cartoon dominatrix on my front page. My friend drew that.

IA- Will you have to make any changes to your site to comply with CDA?

ASIA- Well, my site has always been pretty tame anyway, but I've already made my changes. I studied the CDA closely, and noted that it only applied to commercial sites. Well, my Really Boring Pay Section, and my Asia Carrera Merchandise section are both located on my other site, www.lildictator.com, which makes my "Buttkickin" Homepage a non-profit site therefore exempt from the CDA. Kinda silly, huh? I find this whole attempt by the government to censor my freedom of speech to be ludicrous. Their intentions were good, but they were way off the mark on this one. The government's plot to censor the Web masters of commercial adult sites in the U.S. is completely unconstitutional on several counts, and does nothing to protect children from accessing Internet pornogrpahy from around the world. With dozens of programs like "SafeSurf" or "CyberSitter" readily available to block access to all adult sites, one wonders why the government does not choose to promote them instead? Probably because they don't want to lose out on that 12-month membership they just bought to "Hungarian High School Hookers" ... hmmm...

IA- Are you currently working with any video companies or on any productions?

ASIA- I am tentatively scheduling some mega-budget shoots with Adam and Eve over an extended time period. I only want to do a handful of top-quality productions every now and then. They were pleased with my peformances for them in "Appassionata" and the upcoming quarter-million dollar safari adventure, "Snow Leopard." So, hopefully, we'll be doing some more projects along those lines.

IA- Have you been seeking many non-adult roles?

ASIA- I am looking to expand my acting horizons. Now that I have the Web site, and it is doing rather well, I don't have to do many adult films anymore. I can hang out and seek roles in real movies and work on my Web site. The Web site is a full-time job. I gotta keep things up to date to keep my loyal Buttkickin' fans happy.

IA- Were you surprised to win the AVN People's Choice Award?

ASIA- Of course! I was online the night of the awards show, when my friend Danni Ashe emailed me with the good news. I went into my chat room and had a cyber-party to celebrate.

IA- Did winning the award increase your business?

ASIA- Yes, I am getting some new traffic from it, but I was more interested in the bragging rights a win entails.

Asia's Web site keeps her occupied full-time but she manages to find time to pursue all of her many other interests. Asia is limiting herself to just a few selected adult films, hoping one will earn her a Best Actress award. As to her future plans, Asia explains, "After I'm done with adult, I'll be a mom, or a stock analyst, or knowing me, probably both."
